Since its founding in 1921, The Oak Park Art League (OPAL) has remained an important and vibrant cultural center by inviting and challenging its members to use art as vehicle for understanding and personal growth. While embracing members of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, we are united in our uncompromising commitment to the spirit of open inquiry and quest for deeper understanding of our essential natures against the backdrop of a rapidly changing world.

Located in the center of Oak Park’s Historic District, walking distance from Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio and Ernest Hemingway’s birth home, the Oak Park Art League is an important landmark and lends to a tri-part dialogue about the early 20th century regional influences in art, architecture and literature that continue to define Oak Park’s cultural landscape today.
