with Caleb Lee
Come learn how to invent your own cartoon character and build someone from the ground up—someone silly, cool, wild, or totally one-of-a-kind! In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll spend 2 hours designing a cartoon character from scratch using simple shapes, bold lines, color, exaggerated features, clothing, and your own imagination.
We’ll explore how to give your character personality by playing with faces, clothing, poses, and features like big hair, tiny arms, or whatever makes your creation special. You’ll follow along step-by-step as the instructor draws and gives tips, then you’ll have time to draw your own version and make it your own. At the end, you’ll have your very own character—drawn, colored, and ready to show off!
You’ll learn how to:
Use shapes to start a character sketch
Create fun expressions and body poses
Personalize your character with color, clothing, details and a background
Bring a character idea to life in one sitting
What to expect:
A fun and interactive 2-hour session
