Learn fundamental drawing techniques and expand existing skills in a variety of media to discover individual drawing style. The focus will be on constructing composition and linear perspective with an emphasis on value plane and the use of line. Students will learn how to bring clarity and consistency to their subject matter.

Learn to make rich, layered, colorful prints using a Gelli Plate monoprinting pad. You can use almost anything to make a print - from a feather or a flower to a pair of jeans or even Lego! You'll also make your own reusable stencils, with no drawing needed. Choose to print on paper, fabric, or try both!

Stemming from conceptions grounded in abstraction, this course for beginning to intermediate painters will include extensive experimentation with techniques, materials, and mediums through individual painting dilemmas.

Students will explore the fundamentals of oil painting with an introduction to materials and by practicing skills of observation, methods of drawing, explorations of color theory, and techniques of brushwork. Utilizing carefully designed still life arrangements, fundamentals of painting such as light, shape, value, and edges will be covered. Demonstrations and discussions are designed to encourage individual progress as well as general painting guidance.
