Seeing Deeply

Saturday, October 25th, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

with Kathleen Fischer

Photography isn’t just about equipment – it’s about vision. Seeing Deeply is a workshop designed to help artists of any discipline develop fresh potential and a new perspective behind the lens. Through practical exercises, visual challenges, and compositional techniques, participants are encouraged to break out of old habits and create images that are unique and alive.

Participants will use their camera of choice to increase visual confidence, receive creative prompts from photo masters, and develop a personal and distinct visual style.

• Study the classic principles of composition... and experiment with breaking them

• Use everyday locations to see beyond what is right in front of your eyes.

• Build on or continue a portfolio and generate new work

• A chance to review your efforts through gentle critiques and group presentations

About the instructor:

After teaching for 36 years in both high school and junior college levels, I have most recently been traveling backroads in a vintage trailer with my husband and giant dog, Jackie Bouvier. This has allowed me to revel in both the epic grandeur of vistas and the delicate symmetry of minute vegetation. My work has been seen in galleries, magazines, and books - most recently ‘Spider Awards 20 Years of the World’s Greatest Black and White Photographs’. I was an Artist in Residence at the Mohave National Preserve in 2019 and received The Golden Apple teaching award alternate in 2001. Detailed list available upon request.
