This installation of lenticulars and a few sculptures was primarily inspired by re-reading The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. I was struck by how his messages of colonization, prejudice, peace and harmony still resonate so strongly today. I used the structure of three tiers so describe some of the themes. It begins on the bottom tier with Bradbury writing and brainstorming, then moves up to the middle layer of exploration and the discovery of love and beauty. The top tier contains several mars myths and represents our higher consciousness. Aliens may not appeal to our likeness but they are living creatures. I drew upon other Mars popular images, and some I just imagined. If you would like a larger one with the same imagery, contact me.
