We’re thrilled to announce that OPAL received a relief grant from the @CookCountyArts Nonprofit Relief Grant program! Public funding for the arts is critical to our community well-being, and this funding will help our organization continue and expand our mission to provide engaging art exhibitions, educational opportunities and programming to promote artistic inquiry for all. 

With generous grant funding from the Mammel Family Foundation, the Oak Park Art League has partnered with St. Angela School in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago to facilitate a visiting art instructor to provide art classes and activities to underserved elementary and high school youth.

During this election year, the Oak Park Art League will host a national juried exhibition that aims to spotlight the values of the broader Oak Park community that celebrates inclusion, diversity and equity, during this time in our nation’s history when these very ideals are blatantly under attack.

Sunday March 10, 2-4pm

This event will include an After Hours Contributors Open Mic,
Featuring After Hours #47 Featured Writer Yolanda Nieves,
Followed by Albert DeGenova reading from his new book Human Nature, poems of witness. Book cover art by Jonathan Franklin

Saturday March 2nd at 2pm

The group of artists presenting Essence of Mark-Making will host a talk in the gallery and share their process and what is behind the drawings they are creating. This event is free and open to the public.

As a member of OPAL, you have access to a wide range of art classes, workshops, exhibitions, and events that can help you develop your skills and deepen your appreciation for art.

Small in stature, but bigger than life in attitude and impact, Bobbie Raymond left a legacy that lives on in Oak Park and beyond. Now she will forever be remembered with a bronze bust, permanently displayed on a stone pedestal in the courtyard at the Oak Park Art League (OPAL), 720 Chicago Ave., Oak Park.
